Job Description
Alert Engine Parts is searching for a Driver to join the team in Johannesburg. The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe delivery of goods to and from customers, and to follow all procedures accurately.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- At least 3 years of delivery experience
- Valid driver licence with PDP
- Good time‑management skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Honesty and integrity
- Sober habits
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities and Performance Indicators
- Inspect the vehicle before departure and upon return; submit the inspection form to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday.
- Report any errors on the vehicle immediately before it can leave the premises.
- Check parcels with the supervisor before loading, following the New Dispatch Loading procedure.
- Deliver parcels to customers on the designated route according to the route schedule and trip sheet.
- Ensure customer adherence to the POD (Proof of Delivery) procedure.
- Follow RFC (Return from Customer) procedures.
- Deliver all required documents and collection slips listed on the trip sheet; collect POD.
- Sign trip sheets at the POD clerk, ensuring all documents are complete and returned the following day.
- Maintain responsibility for outstanding trip sheets and any claims relating to No‑POD queries.
- Do not transfer stock between customer shops.
- Maintain and clean the vehicle, reporting any problems to the Dispatch Supervisor immediately.
- Report any delivery or POD issues to the Dispatch Supervisor.
