About the Role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies is seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our Walmer Park store. The successful candidate will ensure that all goods are accurately received, scanned, and logged according to company SOPs, and that stock is moved efficiently to the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Verify, scan, and capture physical goods upon receipt.
2. Receive all warehouse deliveries and invoices following company policy.
3. Return unordered or damaged goods and produce accurate credit notes.
4. Check deliveries and invoices for total accuracy – quantity, variant, and condition.
5. Assist the Receiving Manager with warehouse claim logging.
6. Maintain the flow of stock receipts so that deliveries are processed the same day.
7. Process returns to suppliers in line with SOPs.
8. Ensure the receiving area remains clean, organized, and secure.
9. Support management of high‑risk stock.

Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Computer literate with sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Previous receiving, retail, or FMCG experience

Competencies

Essential

• Knowledge of receiving operations and administration
• Strong command of the English language
• Effective communication with suppliers, management, reps, and staff
• Analytical and time‑management skills
• Ability to lift and move heavy boxes (≥20 kg)

Advantageous

• Bilingual fluency
• Experience with a stock rotating system

• Physically fit to lift >20 kg
• Reliable transport and/or residence near the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
