Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Customer Consultant to join our team at the Maponya Mall store. The successful candidate will:
- Interact with customers and provide information about products and services.
- Address inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete accurate data entry and documentation.
- Check card balances, card reports, and statements for customers.
- Manage daily and weekly inventory control items such as cards, magazines, applications, baby bags, travel kits, promotional items, and free gifts.
- Process transactions accurately using the TRMS system, including capturing and reporting.
- Track stock control and shrinkage, and handle checkpoint reversals on statements.
- Ensure manual point allocations are forwarded to the Admin Manager.
- Maintain effective internal communication within the customer service and benefits programmes.
- Escalate compliments, complaints, and product sourcing matters to Senior or Regional Customer Consultants.
- Manage complaints and compliments via the customer service diary and external customer feedback platforms.
- Respond to written or e‑mail queries across various channels.
- Keep the Store Manager and relevant staff updated on all benefit programme activities.
- Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette in line with Dis‑Chem SOPs.
- Accurately recruit and capture customers.
- Coordinate and manage in‑store events and promotions.
- Serve as the central point for general queries, compliments, and complaints.
- Offer guidance to customers and refer them to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure visibility of the Benefits Programme signage and current promotional signage at the customer service desk or till points.
- Remain visible on the store floor when a second Customer Consultant is available to provide relief.
- Provide benefits programme training to all departments and enforce its implementation.
- Adhere to all Dis‑Chem policies, procedures, SOPs, and health and safety regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric with at least 60% in English, Afrikaans and Maths Literacy.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in administration or public relations.
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
- Computer literate – proficient in MS Office.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Administration, Customer Service or Public Relations qualification.
- Proficiency in a third additional language.
- SAP experience.
