About the Role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Cosmetics Consultant to join our Rosebank team. As a key member of our retail staff, you will promote and sell Dis‑Chem’s broad range of cosmetics, fragrances and beauty products while providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer care and support, handling complaints and escalating unresolved issues to management.
• Demonstrate products through make‑overs, beauty demos, spray promotions and other in‑store activities.
• Manage stock levels: record, report shortages, damages and expired items, and ensure proper rotation.
• Set up attractive displays and merchandising in line with Dis‑Chem’s visual standards.
• Achieve department, brand and vendor sales targets, and maximise store income.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product ranges, brands and industry trends.
• Handle promotions, sales targets and customer liaison, supporting fellow team members.
• Use the salon booking system to schedule and manage appointments.

Essential Qualifications

• High school (Grade 12 / Matric) completed.
• Previous retail experience as a sales consultant.
• Computer literacy.
• Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and evenings).

Advantageous Qualifications

• Experience in cosmetics, fragrance or beauty retail.
• Prior sales and promotional training.
• Bilingual language skills.
• Prior experience in stock management and handling expired or damaged goods.

Core Competencies

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Team‑player attitude.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Understanding of sales reports, targets and commission structures.
• Ability to follow a structured task schedule.

Special Conditions of Employment
