Job Summary

This role is an entry‑level position within the Planned Maintenance Office. The successful candidate will support maintenance planning, execution and improvement initiatives across the plant, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to safety and quality standards. The position operates at Band 8 and reports directly to the Planned Maintenance Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and monitoring asset care strategies using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in cross‑functional engineering and production teams to reduce reactive maintenance.
  • Support programmes that minimise unplanned downtime on critical equipment.
  • Help manage cleaning, lubrication and first‑line maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of Reliability‑Centred Maintenance (RCM) task lists for all significant equipment.
  • <li Use failure‑analysis techniques with cross‑functional teams to identify recurring failure patterns.

    <li Suggest preventive actions that balance cost and effectiveness.

    <li Make formal recommendations to Planned Maintenance Officers.

    <li Plan daily maintenance capacity, ensuring preventative and corrective work is covered.

    <li Ensure shutdowns follow the critical path analysis and meet target dates.

    <li Track work orders, close information loops and verify that all technical manuals are current.

    <li Maintain KPI reports and ensure the SAP PM, MM and CO systems are supported.

    <li Contribute to RCM exercises for new equipment before commissioning.

    <li Assist with the development and review of group‑wide RCM templates for primary production equipment.

    <li Help administer skill matrices and training plans for maintenance personnel.

    <li Support material management strategies, including codification, bills of material and spares acquisition.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education (or equivalent).
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a Planned Maintenance Office.
  • Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Basic artisan training and Business‑Centred Maintenance training preferred.
  • Strong organisational and scheduling skills.
  • Working knowledge of Metallurgy, Mining and Engineering disciplines.
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
