About the Programme
Smollan invites motivated graduates to join our 2026 Graduate Programme in Cape Town. This is not an internship – it is a full‑time, structured experience designed to launch your career in retail technology.
The programme, funded by SETA, bridges academic learning with real business tasks. You will work inside the Smollan Data and Technology unit, gaining hands‑on experience that will shape your future.
What You’ll Experience
- Hands‑on training: Work on live projects with our DataOrbis business unit.
- Workshops: Attend sessions focused on professional and personal growth.
- Mentorship: Learn from experienced professionals and global leaders in retail tech.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data to support strategic IT decisions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, clients, and partners.
- Stay updated on the latest retail technology trends.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of new retail technology solutions.
Programme Details
- Duration: 12 months (starting 1 February 2026)
- Stipend: R8,000 per month
- Number of Positions: Three places

Who We Are Looking For
- Education: Completed 3‑to‑4 year degree, preferably in a STEM field.
- Essential Excel Skills: Strong knowledge of VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and basic functions.
- Preferred: Exposure to SQL.
- Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, problem‑solving ability, excellent communication.
- Attitude: Passion for technology, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
