About the Role

Curro Academy in Mahikeng is looking for a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Caregiver. The caregiver will work with the Aftercare Supervisor to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for learners during after‑care and holiday programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Aftercare Supervisor with daily after‑care operations.
• Support and supervise learners during after‑care and holiday programmes.
• Prepare classrooms and grounds according to lesson plans.
• Monitor extramural activities and ensure learner participation and safety.
• Supervise snacks and bathroom routines, promoting hygiene and care.
• Ensure learners are collected by the correct guardian or authorised person.
• Communicate courteously with parents about learner well‑being or incidents.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all learners.
• Assist with the preparation and organisation of after‑care activities and learning materials.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (required).
• Early Childhood Development Certificate Level 4 (advantageous).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in after‑care or as a teacher assistant.
• Basic knowledge of child care and supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and strong emotional control.
• Ability to plan, organise, and work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts as required.
