About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Assistant to support our Field Sciences team. In this role you will work closely with research scientists to plan, execute, and monitor field trials for insect‑control traits in maize and soybean. Your work will help shape product decisions and contribute to the global mission of ensuring food security.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and execution of field trials for biotech traits.
  • Collect and record data on pest performance and non‑target insect observations.
  • Maintain accurate records of trial progress and regulatory compliance.
  • Support administrative tasks, including report writing and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams across South Africa.
  • Participate in on‑site field visits, including optional overnight stays.
  • Promote responsible pest management practices and safety standards.

Key Stakeholders

You will work daily with research scientists, both in office and on the field, and be exposed to breeding, regulatory, and commercial functions. This cross‑functional collaboration offers a deep understanding of how scientific research translates into market‑ready solutions.

Location

Delmas, Mpumalanga – you will be based in our South African operations office.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • BAgric, BSc Honours or MSc in Agriculture (Entomology, Integrated Pest Management, Plant Sciences, Plant Physiology, Agronomy, or an equivalent combination).
  • Experience with field trials is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s licence; experience driving an SUV‑sized vehicle is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills – attention to detail, punctuality, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • Knowledge of field‑trial methodologies and South African agricultural legislation is beneficial.
