About the Role

We are looking for a Controller to manage the vehicle stock at our East Rand dealership. The role involves tracking vehicle movement, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with sales and service, and conducting regular audits to keep inventory accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track all vehicles entering and leaving the dealership.
  • Keep precise records of stock levels and vehicle locations.
  • Work with sales and service teams to meet customer and dealership needs.
  • Carry out regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Report stock levels, trends, and any discrepancies to management.
  • Identify and resolve stock problems quickly.
  • Implement best practices for inventory management.
  • Capture daily purchase data accurately.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks: verify creditors, bring cars in, invoice vehicles, create checks.
  • Call suppliers about outstanding invoices and manage vehicle costing.
  • Ensure all required documents are in the vehicle file.
  • Assist the stock controller with sales reporting.
  • Allocate daily debtors and update the back office.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report deviations to finance.
  • Conduct stock takes twice a week for all vehicles.
  • Prepare provisions for all vehicles in inventory.
  • Issue purchase orders and update the stock list with retail information.
  • Control the demo fleet and submit reports to Matrix and the back office weekly.
  • Manage licensing and registration for new and used cars.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in inventory management, especially in the automotive sector.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with inventory software and Microsoft Office.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
