Job Purpose

Gather and verify information from insured or designated persons to settle claims with carriers. Provide administrative updates, offer insights on policies, and promote additional benefits and products to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Management: Resolve requests on the first call, meet service level agreements (SLAs), and provide clear solutions.
  • Needs Analysis: Ask insightful questions to capture information needed to solve customer issues.
  • Up‑sell: Identify products that match customer needs, explain benefits, and encourage purchases.
  • Correspondence: Respond to routine calls or emails and customize templates for unique requests.
  • Operational Compliance: Learn and follow company policies, regulatory codes, and mandatory procedures.
  • Administration: Update policy details (address changes, banking details, etc.) and support customers with system use.
  • Personal Development: Attend training, coaching, industry conferences, and stay up to date with best practices.
  • Schedule: Work assigned shifts and adhere to quality and regulatory standards.

Education

  • Matric / Grade 12 / SAQA Equivalent (essential)
  • Regulatory Exam 5 (advantageous)
  • STI Qualification (advantageous)
  • Class of Business (advantageous)
  • Customer Service certificate or related qualification (advantageous)

Experience

  • 2 or more years in customer service (essential)
  • 1 year in a call centre (advantageous)
