Purpose of the Job

The Collection Controller (Administration) works within the Accounts Receivable team of the Advtech Group Schools Division. You will work closely with the Collection Controller to investigate and resolve payment and account discrepancies in the Customer Service Tracking System and Excalibur Debt Management system. You’ll help identify potential conflicts and manage and resolve challenges proactively, as well as prepare files for pre‑legal handovers.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Monitor FreshDesk for incoming queries and respond within the defined SLA. Provide requested information to account payers within SLA, handle complaints, and follow up to ensure resolution and maintain strong relationships.
  • Query Handling: Receive calls about accounts, investigate unallocated payments and bank reconciliation, respond to queries, liaise with other departments or school staff, capture all customer inquiry information, and escalates unresolved issues to Team Leaders.
  • Pre‑Legal Administration: Prepare customer files for legal handover when debts remain outstanding, gather necessary documentation from school staff, and address any queries from staff or the pre‑legal team.

Education Requirements

  • Grade 12 completion.
  • B‑BCom Degree in Finance or a related field is an advantage.

Experience Required

  • 3 years as a Collections Agent / Controller or Credit Controller.
  • 1 year in Shared Service experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of the CPA / Debt Collection Act.
