Job Summary

The Handyman role is essential to keep our production facilities running smoothly. You will perform a range of maintenance and repair tasks, maintain equipment and workspace, and support production lines. The role requires basic tools knowledge, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent National Certificate (NQF 4)
• Experience applying related techniques and processes
• Experience working with senior management
• Fluent in Business English
• Ability to work in extreme conditions
• Basic experience with hand and power tools

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform elementary maintenance and repairs – electrical and mechanical tasks.
• Handle job cards, schedule work and record completion.
• Receive parts from the maintenance store.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine inspections:
• Weekly fire pump and valve run with documentation.
• Weekly generator run with documentation.
• Weekly leveler inspection with documentation.
• Ladder inspections.
• Weekly racking inspection.
• Concrete floor and bollard repairs.
• Build boiler safety cages for stock take.
• Inspect and test 380 V truck plugs.
• Support the ammonia plant, coordinating with EP for repairs outside the SLA.
• Engage contractors on site when required.
• Maintain safe working conditions and demarcate work areas.
