About the Role

We are looking for energetic, friendly and reliable individuals to join our team as Shop Assistants / Cashiers. In this role you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. You will operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system, manage cash, offer product knowledge, promote promotions and maintain the visual appeal of the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the POS system accurately, scanning merchandise, collecting payments, and issuing receipts.
  • Handle cash, credit and voucher transactions securely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Promote Clicks clubcard membership and help new shoppers sign up to achieve clubcard participation targets.
  • Inform customers about ongoing promotions, sales and special offers to boost sales.
  • Provide courteous, friendly and professional customer service, acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Maintain shop standards, including visual merchandising, product exposure and general housekeeping.
  • Keep up‑to‑date with product ranges, promotions and store events to answer customer queries confidently.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper cash handling techniques.
  • Assist with stock management, stock rotation and loss prevention as required.

  • Basic maths skills for calculations and cash handling.
  • Understanding of FMCG retail operations, merchandising and promotional tactics.
  • Familiarity with stock control procedures.
