Job Overview
The City of Tshwane’s Group Human Capital Management Department is seeking a reliable and professional Driver Messenger to join their Learning & Development Division. This role is based at the Tshwane Leadership & Management Academy in Pretoria West. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective corporate driver and messenger service to ensure smooth administrative operations.
Salary and Benefits
- Job Level: T5
- Salary Scale: R203,136.00 – R282,120.00 per annum
- Estimated Total Remuneration Package: R291,521.00 – R392,053.00 per annum
Minimum Application Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification.
- Relevant working experience.
- Must be physically fit and healthy, with the ability to walk long distances, handle trolleys, and carry documentation.
- A valid Code B driving licence.
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal record check and provide fingerprints to the Tshwane Metro Police Department at their own cost.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute driving functions between various City buildings and depots.
- Immediately report any vehicle accidents or losses for insurance and repair purposes.
- Collect and deliver post and documents to various buildings, depots, and regions within Tshwane.
- Be available to perform delivery duties after normal working hours and over weekends when required.
- Transport goods and documents to events hosted by the office.
- Maintain municipal vehicles and complete all necessary accident reporting procedures.
- Perform daily vehicle checks (water, oil, petrol) and report any problems for repair.
- Accurately complete daily log sheets for kilometres driven and fuel intake.
- Strictly comply with all corporate fleet policies and procedures of the City of Tshwane.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment when necessary.
- Perform photocopying tasks.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
