Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Storeman to join our warehouse team in Booysens. The Storeman will be responsible for accurately receiving, issuing, and managing spares and stock items. The role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain picking lists or transfer inventory forms from the supervisor to receive or issue spares.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing spares for quality and quantity, and keep proper records.
• Pack and label items correctly before dispatch.
• Store items in the correct location, following stacking and storage standards.
• Scan all items using a mobile handheld device.
• Operate forklift and overhead crane for loading and unloading goods.
• Conduct regular safety checks and participate in safety training.
• Report daily to the Stores Supervisor and inform them of any tools required.
• Ensure the warehouse is opened in the morning and closed safely at the end of the shift.
• Assist in random stock counts and yearly stocktakes.
• Maintain daily timesheets.
• Uphold health and safety regulations, keeping the warehouse clean and organised.
• Assist other departments, work overtime and Saturdays when necessary.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Storeman.
• Valid forklift and overhead crane certifications.
• Computer literacy – ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations.
