Job Advert Summary

We are looking for a Cashier to receive payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records of all cash and credit transactions. The successful candidate will have prior customer service experience and a good understanding of how cash registers operate.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Customer Service qualification (advantageous).
• 2–5 years of proven experience in a catering environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions using cash registers.
• Scan goods and verify pricing accuracy.
• Collect payments in cash or credit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and provide correct change.
• Redeem stamps and coupons.
• Cross‑sell products and introduce new items.
• Resolve customer complaints, provide guidance, and share relevant information.
• Greet customers entering or leaving the canteen.
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area.
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies.
