About the Role
CashBuild is seeking a dedicated and proactive General Assistant to support our store operations. The ideal candidate will provide friendly customer service, ensure the store is well merchandised, label shelves accurately, and maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Assist customers with product information, answer queries, and resolve complaints in a courteous manner.
- Merchandising: Organise bulk stock and planogram areas, ensuring products are displayed safely and according to store layout, and that aisles are clear.
- Housekeeping: Keep your area obstacle‑free, label shelves correctly, and follow the on‑duty checklist for canteen, toilet, and shower services.
- Safety & Compliance: Use required safety gear, maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues, report discrepancies, manage stock loss, and report any damaged goods.
- Basic Calculations: Perform accurate basic arithmetic for price adjustments and inventory checks.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 or National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 3 with at least one year of relevant work experience, or Grade 12 without prior experience.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and the primary language spoken in the area.
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
