A leading organization within the IT sector is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Capacity Analyst Manager. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and optimize IT capacity planning, ensuring that systems and resources meet both current and future business demands.

About the Position

The purpose of Capacity Management is to ensure the organization consistently has sufficient resources to deliver business workloads. This role involves proactive planning to align IT capacity with business requirements, making cost-effective use of resources. While proactive activities are key, the Capacity Manager must also address reactive needs as they arise.

Formal Education

  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of Capacity Management experience (Essential)
  • M+3 Qualification (Advantageous)
  • ITIL Foundation Qualification (Advantageous)

Experience

  • Proven record of at least 5 years’ experience in the IT industry
  • Previous experience in Capacity Planning and Reporting solutions is crucial
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Proven understanding of technology dynamics
  • Experience with Mainframe and Open Systems

Technical/Legal Certification

  • Driver’s license with reliable transport (Compulsory)

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor resource capacity and system performance, ensuring data accuracy in the Capacity Business Dataset (CBD)
  • Provide regular management reports on resource usage, trends, and forecasts
  • Contribute to performance reports against Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets
  • Maintain knowledge of future IT resource demand and predict demand impact on service levels
  • Recommend system tuning and optimizations to IT management
  • Resolve performance-related incidents and problems
  • Ensure sufficient capacity to meet service level targets
  • Provide capacity requirements for new or modified IT services
  • Maintain awareness of current service capacity and trends
  • Develop and maintain a Capacity Plan
  • Assess capacity impact of change requests, problems, and incidents
  • Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as required
  • Monitor IT capacity levels and address shortfalls
