About the Role

AFGRI Labworld is offering two internship positions for students in a commercial laboratory setting. As an intern you will learn several chemical methods, prepare samples, manage chemicals and help maintain our laboratory systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced lab staff, assist in our accreditation and safety processes, and help validate our testing methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical solutions and standards.
  • Record and manage chemical and consumable intake.
  • Maintain chemical storage systems.
  • <li) Assist in laboratory waste management.

  • Perform sample preparation and analysis following SOPs.
  • Verify glassware and pipettes for accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school (Grade 12) completion.
  • Currently studying for a National Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, or an equivalent field.
  • Participation in a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.
  • Minimum 6 months of laboratory experience is a plus.
  • South African citizen.
  • Must not be enrolled in or have completed another internship or graduate program.
