Job Overview

The Operations Assistant will support the Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU – BLEND truck) controller in day‑to‑day activities. The role involves housekeeping, charging of blasts, inspecting equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with housekeeping tasks on site and at the wash bay.
• Maintain cleanliness of trucks, truck park, and equipment following World Class standards.
• Support the MMU controller in running all mobile manufacturing unit operations.
• Help conduct regular inspections on fixed plant and MMUs against SABS and World Class requirements.
• Identify non‑conformances and implement preventive measures.
• Carry out blasting duties: measuring holes, charging, closing or stemming charged holes, guarding, and cleaning.
• Load and unload products into trucks and handle packaged explosives and accessories safely.
• Adhere to all legal and safety requirements while working at the depot.
• Work independently to achieve operational objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 education.
• Code B driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of safe working practices.
• Product knowledge and hazardous product handling skills.
• Capability to obtain a red ticket health clearance.
• A proactive, independent work style.
