Internship Overview
The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) requires a supervised internship so aspiring psychologists gain practical experience and meet professional standards. This internship will provide you with:
- An opportunity to increase student awareness of mental health and wellness.
- Experience in crisis management and student counseling.
- Collaboration with school support teams for student progress.
- Skill building through workshops and psychoeducational assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one counseling services to learners.
- Assist in crisis management for students requiring immediate support.
- Collaborate with the school‑based support team to monitor progress.
- Coordinate and deliver workshops that promote mental health.
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret results.
- Maintain detailed case histories and prepare monthly reports and statistics.
- Attend supervision sessions and case conferences.
