About the Role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Administrator to manage vendor invoices and payments for SAPPI. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, timely payments, maintain vendor records, and support our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify all e‑invoice submissions to meet SARS requirements.
  • Review invoices that do not pass the 3‑way match and investigate why they were not posted.
  • Follow up on overdue payments, identify delays, and resolve issues.
  • Handle incoming e‑mail and telephone inquiries from vendors about payment status or invoice details.
  • Create and review payment proposals in SAP, using appropriate parameters.
  • Analyse vendor accounts for aged items shown on GRIR reports and identify possibilities for write‑back.
  • Prepare monthly vendor reconciliations for categories such as GRIR clearing and audit requirements (both external and internal).
  • Perform operational testing when financial systems are updated or changed.
  • Maintain and update a four‑week rolling cash flow for FEC, CFC, and SES, and submit it to supervisors each week.
  • Resolve open credit memos and duplicate payment issues on Celonis in a timely manner.
  • Support ad‑hoc services in General Accounts and Fixed Assets as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Recent Diploma or Degree in Finance.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting environment.
  • Prior experience using SAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
