A vacancy exists for a Financial Accountant at a large international engineering and manufacturing company in Gauteng. The successful candidate will handle all accounting functions, ensuring timely financial reporting, analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional departments to support optimal financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and report monthly management accounts to provide financial insights for decision-making.
Process management journals to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
Reconcile and submit VAT on a monthly basis in compliance with statutory requirements.
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies as part of the cost accounting function.
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Manage stock through financial reconciliations to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
Review and authorize debtors and creditors while preparing related financial reconciliations.
Review weekly and month-end payments to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
Communicate with auditors to facilitate audits and resolve queries efficiently.
Liaise with SARS and other statutory bodies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are consistently met.
Control fixed assets from a financial perspective to maintain accurate records.
Handle any ad-hoc duties as assigned to support the finance function.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.

Minimum Requirements:

BCom in Accounting or a related field is essential.
Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and IFRS.
Previous experience with accounting software, such as Sage X3 and CaseWare, is preferred.
Strong computer literacy, with MS Excel essential.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
