Polokwane Unemployed Learnership – Face to Face Financial Adviser (FAIS)

ABSA Group is looking for motivated candidates with a completed degree in Finance, Accounting or Law to join our 12‑month Unemployed Learnership for Trainee Financial Advisers. This programme helps you launch a career in financial services while you gain practical experience and professional qualifications.

Job Summary

As a trainee you will learn how to help people achieve their financial goals. You’ll receive structured training, follow Standard Operating Procedures, and work towards career goals that align with ABSA’s values of honesty, integrity and good standing.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate in structured training and development activities.
  • Apply learning to daily tasks and support your team’s objectives.
  • Follow SOPs to maintain compliance and quality.
  • Track and report on administrative tasks.
  • Assist customers and drive sales to target.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to prescribed scripts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Engage fully in workplace activities aligned with your development goals.
  • Attend all training sessions and complete required learning modules.
  • Provide excellent customer support and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Meet sales and productivity targets.
  • Follow QA procedures and keep client information confidential.

FAIS Fit‑and‑Proper Requirements

For the Advice and Intermediary Service role you must hold:

  • An FSCA‑approved qualification
  • Regulatory Exam for Representatives (RE5)
  • Product Specific Training once onboarded
  • Class of Business Training
  • Ongoing continuous professional development
  • Attestation to honesty, integrity and good standing

Preference will be given to candidates who already possess an FSCA‑approved qualification or have completed the RE5 exam.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting (required)
  • National Senior Certificate / Matric Grade 12 (required)
