Key Responsibilities
As a Driver for Construction and Industrial Projects, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations on site. Your main duties will include transporting essential items and people safely and efficiently. Here is a detailed overview of what the role involves:
- Transport Materials & Equipment: You will be responsible for safely delivering construction materials, tools, and machinery to and from various project sites. This ensures that all teams have what they need to complete their work on time.
- Personnel Transport: Provide reliable and safe transportation for workers, supervisors, and visitors. Your punctuality and careful driving will help keep everyone moving smoothly across the project areas.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular inspections on vehicles to make sure they are always fueled, serviced, and in top condition. This includes checking tires, brakes, lights, and other key components to prevent any breakdowns.
- Load & Unload Cargo: Assist in securely loading and unloading heavy materials and equipment. You will need to handle these items with care to avoid damage and ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Safety Compliance: Always follow all traffic laws, road rules, and site-specific safety protocols. Maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety gear properly to protect yourself and your team.
- Delivery Coordination: Stay in clear communication with site management and project teams to coordinate deliveries. This helps ensure that materials arrive on time and in the right place for efficient project progress.
- Record Keeping: Keep accurate and detailed logs of all trips, deliveries, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance activities. These records are important for tracking operations and complying with company policies.
- Emergency Support: Be prepared to assist during vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or other on-site emergencies. Your quick thinking and helpfulness can make a big difference in resolving issues fast.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have the right skills, experience, and mindset. We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to work in a dynamic construction environment. Key qualifications include:
- Experience: Previous driving experience is essential, and it is preferred if you have worked in a construction or industrial setting. This background will help you understand the unique challenges of transporting goods on busy project sites.
- License: Hold a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. No major violations or accidents in recent years to demonstrate your safe driving habits.
- Physical Requirements: Be physically fit to lift and move heavy loads, often up to 50kg or more. You must also be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions, including heat, dust, and rain common in Saudi Arabia.
- Safety Knowledge: Have a solid understanding of construction site safety rules and the proper way to use personal protective equipment (PPE) like helmets, gloves, and high-visibility clothing.
- Communication: Possess clear and professional communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and other staff. You may need to report issues or confirm details in English or Arabic.
- Time Management: Demonstrate strong organizational skills to stick to schedules, meet tight delivery deadlines, and handle multiple tasks without delays.
