Data Capturer – Centurion, Gauteng (Permanent Position)

Position Overview

Shoprite Checkers seeks a meticulous Data Capturer to join our Centurion team. This permanent position requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate data management across multiple systems while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Accurately input data from physical and digital sources into company databases
• Conduct daily quality checks on existing database records
• Maintain organized filing systems for both electronic and paper documents
• Generate monthly operational reports for management review
• Collaborate with retail operations teams to verify inventory data
• Implement data validation procedures to ensure 98%+ accuracy rates
• Handle confidential employee and customer information securely
• Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies within 24-hour SLA

Essential Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate (Mathematics Literacy essential)
• Preferred: NQF Level 5 Certification in Data Management/Office Administration

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation)
• MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Basic Power BI skills (data visualization advantage)

Professional Experience

• Minimum 18 months data entry experience in retail environment
• SAP ERP system exposure (preferred)

Key Competencies

• Error detection and correction capabilities
• Time management for high-volume data processing
• Clear communication across multiple departments
• Understanding of POPI Act compliance requirements
