- Basic Salary: R227 508 – R315 984 per annum
- Total Package (incl. benefits): R322 542 – R435 155 per annum
Job Purpose
Transport, load and unload materials within the section, while ensuring proper use and management of vehicles, equipment and support staff. The role aims to improve operational efficiency and maintain a safe working environment.
Minimum Application Requirements
- Grade 10 or equivalent
- At least 6 months of relevant work experience
- Valid Code EC driver’s licence with a PrDP
- Physically fit and medically healthy
- Willing to work shifts, overtime and standby periods
- Prepared to relieve in similar positions when required
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken (at own cost)
- Must be able to travel extensively
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport and remove materials as required within the operational area
- Report daily to the Superintendent
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are in good working order and serviced regularly
- Monitor personnel to ensure equipment is used correctly and efficiently
- Enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and attend safety meetings
- Immediately report any faults, risks or safety hazards
- Ensure safe working conditions and use of proper protective equipment
