Job Purpose

To maintain natural resources and gardens within Region 3, ensuring clean, safe and well‑kept public spaces.

Grade 10 education
Relevant experience in garden and natural resource maintenance
Supervisory experience (advantageous)
Valid Code EC or EC1 driver’s licence with PrDP
Physically fit and healthy
Willing to undergo a criminal record check (fingerprints taken by TMPD at own cost)
Willingness and ability to work shifts

Ability to perform physical operational and maintenance tasks for extended periods
Ability to work under pressure
Strong teamwork skills
Good communication skills

Cut and maintain grass in all parks within the designated area according to set standards
Remove and control invasive plant species
Assist with transporting plants, soil, fertilisers, compost, materials, and rubble
Support horticulturists with operational tasks as needed
Supervise and manage all personnel in the section
Handle personnel‑related administrative duties
