About the Programme

Lindsay Saker VW Alberton, in partnership with the Motus Technical Training Academy (MTTA), presents a comprehensive Competency-Based Modular Training (CBMT) apprenticeship. This 4-year structured programme combines hands-on workshop experience with accredited technical education, preparing candidates for qualification as certified Motor Vehicle Mechanics.

Programme Structure

  • 4-year learnership contract with merSETA accreditation
  • Progressive training across 4 competency levels
  • 5-day residential training blocks every 5 weeks at MTTA facilities
  • Interactive distance learning through CDX platform (video demonstrations, quizzes, practical exercises)
  • Combination of computer-based exams and practical assessments
  • On-site training at Lindsay Saker VW service departments
  • Portfolio development for national certification

Candidate Requirements

  • Matric Certificate with Mathematics & Physical Science (50%+ minimum) OR N2 Certificate with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English
  • Valid South African driver’s licence
  • Basic computer literacy (email, online platforms, MS Office)
  • Successful completion of mechanical aptitude testing
  • Clear criminal record and medical fitness certificate
  • Willingness to complete psychometric evaluations

Remuneration & Benefits
