Role Summary

As a Credit Analyst Graduate, you will learn to:

  • Manage risk‑adjusted pricing and risk ratings.
  • Align with the bank’s credit policy and identify cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Prepare and recommend credit applications within defined parameters.
  • Analyse savings, debt repayment history, earnings, and purchase activities to assess credit risk.
  • Recommend appropriate credit terms, issue or decline credit cards, and adjust limits.
  • Evaluate customers’ financial status using financial ratios and industry benchmarks.
  • Monitor reports to identify risks and ensure compliance.
  • Obtain and verify financial information, report breaches, and sign off conditions of approval in required timeframes.
  • Identify clients exceeding credit limits through daily excess reports and risk‑rate them.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Collaborate with other bank divisions on deals requiring specialist expertise.
  • Provide accurate information to stakeholders and share knowledge within the team.
  • Use MIS to measure performance, identify required reviews, and meet turnaround times.

Performance & Compliance

  • Achieve targets using management information systems.
  • Understand client needs and provide timely guidance to meet SLA standards.
  • Share knowledge with client service team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop team skills to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Use MIS to identify required annual and interim facility reviews.
  • Meet turnaround times by assessing applications efficiently within agreed SLAs.

Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 or higher in a Financial Management, Accounting or Analysis‑related field.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
  • Understanding of banking procedures.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk and controls.
  • Relevant regulatory knowledge.
  • Business writing skills.
  • Industry specific knowledge and familiarity with financial markets.
  • Understanding of Nedbank’s vision and strategy.
