About the Role
This role is primarily a hosting position, requiring standing, walking, and welcoming visitors during the day (at least 1 hour at a time). The position is based in the lobby, reception areas across the building, and meeting room floors where moving around is necessary.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Work a hybrid approach across guest services, covering the main building reception, internal reception spaces, and the guest services hub.
- Communicate clearly with peers and management, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in both verbal and written communication.
- Stay aware of business activity and keep team members updated.
- Report new, ongoing, or potential issues and complaints to the Guest Services Team Leader/Supervisor.
- Coordinate with security, facilities, and hospitality services.
- Follow security and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Provide a warm, courteous, and prompt welcome to all visitors, ensuring a consistent experience of service excellence.
- Host the main reception area, energise the space, and create lasting impressions.
- Offer local area information and act as a point of contact between clients and hosts, using a concierge approach.
- Serve internal and external VIPs, recognising and delivering service excellence.
- Liaise with PA/EA teams, clients, and visitors to create “wow” moments.
- Maintain immaculate visitor and client spaces and report any issues appropriately.
- Handle enquiries and requests in person, by telephone, or email in a timely, professional manner.
- Use empowerment for problem resolution while enhancing the visitor and client experience.
Desired Experience and Technical Skills
- At least 1 year experience in a front‑of‑house role within a corporate environment, 5‑star hotel, members club, or flagship airline.
- Self‑motivated and committed to service excellence.
- Operational knowledge of reception services, standard operating procedures, booking procedures, and internal/external communication methods.
- Empathy, excellent customer service, and practical skills.
Required Skills and Experience
- Skilled at guest/client service and striving for excellence.
- Comprehensive understanding of reception services and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literate, including MS Office.
- Initiative, ownership, and a positive “can‑do” attitude.
- Professional telephone etiquette and teamwork.
- Ability to work in a busy, pressurised environment while providing discreet, personalised service.
