Job Description
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Assistant to work at our Atterbury branch. The successful candidate will report directly to the Branch Manager and play a key role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of the branch and warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, handling and packing incoming stock.
- Assist with dispatching, inspecting, handling and packing outgoing stock.
- Process internal sales orders by preparing picking slips and ensuring correct items and quantities are retrieved.
- Sign off on picking slips and update stock‑bin cards.
- Collect customer stock or orders and hand over the paperwork to the dispatch area.
- Verify cable cuts where applicable.
- Maintain accurate stock control records and administer warehouse paperwork.
- Serve customers who come in to collect stock or orders.
- Load and unload stock, ensuring accurate allocation to storage areas.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe in line with company standards.
- Ensure all security procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with regular stock‑taking exercises.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Branch or Stores Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent qualification – mandatory.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a stores or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Good product knowledge related to our product lines.
- Understanding of typical warehouse processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards and use of protective clothing.
