Position Overview
The Handyman will provide general maintenance and repair support, act as a relief driver/messenger, and assist with admission controls. The role requires a mix of practical technical skills and strong communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks across the facility.
- Assist with minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Provide relief driving and messenger services as needed.
- Help manage admission and visitor controls in a courteous and professional manner.
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum Experience: At least 2 years in general construction or the handyman trade.
Preferred Experience: Basic knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, power tool operation, and knowledge of the Health and Safety Act.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 10 National Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of quality principles and practices.
- Understanding of health and safety regulatory requirements.
- Experience interacting with internal and external clients.
- Basic computer skills.
Required Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Telephone and call handling proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
