About the Role
We are looking for a motivated intern to join our Phenotyping team. In this position you will help plan, plant, collect data, and harvest research trials for maize, soy, and sunflower in eastern South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments within seasonal deadlines.
- Assist with seed inventory, packing, and processing.
- Take part in on‑site planting and harvesting during crop season.
- Support field work such as pollination, rouging, use of processing equipment, and data collection.
- Scout for plant diseases, pests, and weeds.
- Collaborate with different research divisions to learn new technologies.
- Suggest and implement process improvements.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related science, or Diploma in a scientific field.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Tech‑savvy; comfortable using Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel, work weekends, and work outdoors in all weather.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Flexible schedule and a proactive attitude.
