About the Role
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for managing the shopping centre’s online presence and supporting all marketing activities. You will work closely with the marketing manager to keep websites, social media and marketing materials up to date, and to build positive relationships with customers, tenants and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the marketing and brand strategy across all platforms.
- Manage printed, digital and social media campaigns.
- Help prepare the annual marketing budget and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Conduct market research and support the tenant mix engagement strategy.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, media, tenants and service providers.
- Respond promptly to all web, email and Facebook enquiries.
- Support financial tasks: quotations, invoices, contracts, expense tracking and weekly/monthly reports.
- Create marketing materials and coordinate vendor orders.
- Run social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Website, etc.) and upload content daily.
- Update tenant promotions, Google reviews, tenant newsletters and internal signage.
- Carry out general office duties such as keeping the workspace clean and handling special projects.
Performance Measures
- Effective management of all social media platforms and the website.
- Use of reliable marketing research to support decisions.
- Successful campaigns that meet objectives and are reviewed regularly.
- Professional public relations and clear communication.
- Accurate, timely reporting to management.
- Meeting income targets and keeping marketing costs on budget.
- Administrating financial aspects in line with ISO standards.
- Contribution to budgets and forecasts.
- Completion of special projects as directed.
Requirements
Education / Certification
High school diploma (Matric). A marketing qualification is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge
- Understanding of the company’s products and services.
- Sales and promotion techniques.
- Local marketing vendors.
- Basic financial administration.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years in marketing, managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, website) and event marketing.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and public‑relations skills.
- Excellent organisation and analytical abilities.
- Solid writing and communication skills.
- Comfortable using computer applications.
- Ability to set and meet KPIs.
