About the Role
You will be responsible for capturing high volumes of medical aid payments and collecting outstanding amounts from medical schemes. In addition, you will support stores by managing claims and ensuring accurate, timely processing of all transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Balance the remittance register.
- Oversee direct deposits after month‑end.
- Accurately allocate and update medical aid payments.
- Process daily adjustments and review them for accuracy.
- Investigate scripts that appear on your adjustment and outstanding lists.
- Review the script history to verify available funds.
- Compare funds received with amounts outstanding.
- Inform the Dispensary Manager of any levy changes.
- Send the remittance register to each relevant bookkeeper.
- Respond to all queries received via email on a daily basis.
- Assist pharmacists, dispensers, dispensary managers, supervisors, customers, internal auditors, and medical schemes at all times.
- Report compliments and complaints to management.
Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Advantageous
- Relevant finance qualification.
- Second additional language – well‑spoken.
Core Competencies
Essential
- Strong knowledge of medical aid and finance.
- Good English – reading, writing and speaking.
- Excellent internal communication skills.
- Deadline‑oriented and able to analyse and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent time‑management, quality focus and professionalism.
- Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Special Conditions of Employment
- Must work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- South African citizen or valid work permit.
- MIE: clear criminal and credit records.
- Driver’s licence and/or reliable transport.
