Job Overview
The Scheduling Clerk’s primary role is to ensure material and empties availability so that our production plans run smoothly. When no Production Scheduler or Scheduling Analyst is assigned to a brewery, the Scheduling Clerk takes on their responsibilities along with the duties listed below.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise orders in the On Time system on schedule.
- Contact suppliers to confirm orders that have been sent.
- Ensure delivery schedules are met and follow up with suppliers on ETA and commitments.
- Monitor raw‑material supply to production through communication with Warehouse Leads and suppliers, and factor any changes into production plans.
- Interpret and implement the production plan to guarantee raw‑material and empties availability.
- Follow up on Purchase to Pay (PTP) and Goods Received Invoice (GRIR) items.
- Manage open orders so that only current orders appear in On Time.
- Engage the MRP Material Owner on gaps in stock at the supplier and at the brewery versus the production schedule.
- Work with the MRP team to keep master data updated in On Time.
- Implement and promote the use of On Time and PPMS systems.
- Discuss stock on hand with suppliers to ensure inventory planning (IP) between brewery stock and supplier stock is met.
- Analyse and report on NST time allocation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification – highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar role.
- In‑depth understanding of the SAB value‑chain process (production and distribution).
- Knowledge of supply‑network planning and manufacturing execution systems is beneficial.
- Basic financial knowledge.
- PC literacy – basic Excel and database management skills.
- Knowledge of production and distribution value chains.
