Job Description

The Operations Assistant will support housekeeping and blasting tasks on AECI’s mobile manufacturing unit (MMU – BLEND truck). The role requires working closely with the MMU Controller to meet customer requirements and maintain safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with housekeeping activities at the site, including keeping the wash bay, truck park, and trucks clean.
• Help load and unload products and packaged explosives into trucks.
• Support the charging process on the bench and assist with closing or stemming charged holes.
• Measure drilling holes and carry out any required blasting tasks (guarding, cleaning, etc.).
• Conduct regular inspections of fixed plant and MMUs to identify non‑conformances and recommend improvements.
• Ensure all legal requirements are observed while at the depot.
• Maintain MMU cleanliness and compliance with World Class Standards.
• Work independently and collaborate with the MMU Controller and other team members.

Qualifications & Skills

• Grade 12 (or equivalent).
• Code B driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of safe working practices for hazardous products.
• Product knowledge and hazardous product handling skills.
• Ability to obtain a red tick health clearance.
