Filler Packer

About the Role

Join a team that believes in what they do and make a tangible difference in the packaging process. This is a phase‑out or waiting area role while Autonomous Operators receive their training. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining primary and secondary packaging equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate packing machinery, adjusting, maintaining and controlling equipment to keep production on schedule.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Mecc framework to ensure consistent quality.
• Coordinate daily activities for the team, including Autonomous Operators and general workers.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards in the work area.
• Document operations, complete relevant records and report any non‑conformances.
• Adhere to key performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report and address any safety hazards promptly.
• Participate in INVOCOMS sessions and MECP activities, and support workplace improvement projects.

Success Measures

• Completion of assigned tasks within timeframes.
• Accurate and timely completion of operational records.
• Consistent adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
• High standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Timely reporting of non‑conformances.
• Meeting or exceeding KPI targets.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

Follow all health and safety regulations established by Tiger Brands and the manufacturing protocol. Ensure that all equipment is safe to operate and that safety features are functional. Immediately report and address any unsafe conditions.

Workplace Improvement

Actively engage in continuous improvement activities such as INVOCOMS, SGA processes, and MECP initiatives. Identify opportunities for compliance and efficiency improvements.
