Job Description

We are searching for a friendly and efficient Barista to work in our Johannesburg café. The role involves preparing drinks, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring customers have a great experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Mix and create a variety of drinks.
• Stay aware of the establishment’s financial goals and help meet them.
• Wash glassware and keep the café area tidy.
• Arrange displaying of stock and glassware.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks.
• Serve snacks or food items to customers seated in the pause area.
• Maintain inventory of soft drinks, cream, fruit, fruit juices, coffee, and tea.
• Place orders for necessary supplies.
• Operate computerized point‑of‑sale systems.
• Run automatic drink‑making machines. When the equipment is not working, be ready to make drinks manually.
• Upsell products to increase average sales per customer.
• Possibly manage a small team, performing duties such as planning, organising and controlling bar operations.
• Coordinate beverage supplies with other supervisory staff.
• Assist in menu planning and support advertising and promotional events.
• Track inventory, spillage, and transfers.
