Position Summary

The Data Capturer will manage the collection, verification and entry of health data from various wards and service points into Tier, KHIS, webDHIS, and SAP HIS systems. The role requires a detail‑oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive data from wards (HTS registers, OT registers, delivery registers, etc.) and capture patient files on Tier daily.
  • Verify completeness, correctness, consistency and currency of forms and consent documents.
  • Enter PCR data on Tier and collect data collection tools for recounting.
  • Document and report discrepancies to the Operational Manager for resolution.
  • Capture complaints, PEC and PSI data.
  • Upload data to webDHIS, Tier.net and SAP HIS.
  • Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with the Performance Management and Development System.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (Standard 10, NQF Level 4, N3).
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and data‑interpretation skills.
  • Good communication, verbal and reporting competencies.
  • Planning and organisational abilities.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury regulations, Public Service Acts, Records Management Acts, PAIA and National Core Standards.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and be prepared for medical surveillance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DHIS/Tier certification.
