Role Overview
As a Junior Developer you will support the Property Branch by designing, developing and maintaining software solutions that improve data collection, system implementation and business processes. You will work closely with the finance and compliance teams to provide timely technical assistance and to contribute to the continuous optimisation of the branch’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily technology and data support within the Property Branch.
- Participate in system implementation, configuration and testing.
- Gather and analyse data to support decision‑making and reporting.
- Help build and automate processes to increase efficiency.
- Write, test and debug code for web and desktop applications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications.
- Provide ongoing support for existing systems and resolve user issues.
- Support asset management and control processes for IT resources.
- Apply governance and risk management principles to protect data integrity.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and provide status updates.
- Perform light administrative duties and help compile project reports.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric (NQF Level 4)
- National Diploma or Degree in IT, Information Systems, Financial Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics, Software Development or a related field.
- At least 12 months of relevant working experience.
- Experience with property valuations or financial information systems is advantageous.
Core Competencies
- Basic knowledge of programming languages: Java, C#, Python or JavaScript.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and maintain professional relationships.
Technical Knowledge
- Database development using MS SQL Server.
- Development of web applications with C# and ASP.NET Core.
- Experience in writing SQL queries and managing data models.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and documentation practices.
Employment Conditions
Short‑term contract position, not exceeding nine months.
