About the Programme
This 12‑month development opportunity places successful candidates at inspection points across various regions under the guidance of PPECB specialists. Throughout the programme, participants will gain hands‑on experience and formal training in quality assurance practices relevant to perishable products such as citrus and grapes.
Training Modules (Facilitated by Accredited Experts)
- Export legislation and certification
- Factors influencing exports
- Food safety
- Product knowledge
- Cold chain management
- Total quality management systems and viability
- Recent industry innovations
A modest stipend will be provided to help cover the participant’s costs. Placements are typically near the candidate’s residence; however, seasonal industry requirements may necessitate relocation.
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must hold a completed 3‑year national qualification (minimum) in one of the following fields:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Food Technology
- Environmental Health
Additional criteria include:
- Strong academic record
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English
- Currently unemployed
