Job Purpose

This internship offers hands‑on experience in occupational assessment, talent analytics, and organisational development. Under the guidance of a Supervising Psychologist, you will support Nedbank’s human‑capital goals while ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments ethically and accurately.
  • Prepare integrated assessment reports and provide feedback in line with the HPCSA guidelines.
  • Co‑develop assessment policies, procedures, and standards with the Supervising Psychologist.
  • Stay current in the field, identifying emerging trends and concerns.
  • Initiate validation studies, research projects, and trend analyses with assessment vendors.
  • Assist in career counselling and planning to support employee development.
  • Contribute to wellness initiatives and mental‑health awareness campaigns.
  • Participate in organisational design, culture, and climate studies to guide interventions.
  • Support change‑management and team‑effectiveness projects across business units.
  • Help with recruitment and selection, including competency‑based interviews.
  • Contribute to job profiling, performance management, and training needs analysis.
  • Research workplace stressors and design interventions to boost employee well‑being.
  • Complete a research project aligned with organisational objectives and present findings.
  • Attend structured supervision sessions and maintain a portfolio of evidence per HPCSA requirements.
  • Engage in training and continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
  • Document internship activities in a logbook and submit quarterly reports.
  • Meet stakeholder expectations, deliver within timelines, and uphold quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and systems through agile thinking.

  • Professional qualification or Master’s degree (first‑year coursework completed).
  • Registered Student Psychologist with the HPCSA (Industrial/Organisational Psychology).
