Job Overview
The Local Choice Pharmacy at Bredell Square is looking for a Frontshop Assistant to support store operations and ensure outstanding customer service. You will manage merchandising, stock control, and daily store appearance in line with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock merchandise to maintain maximum sales.
- Ensure newly delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom is immediately stored and packed correctly.
- Apply FIFO principles, maintaining stock above sell-by dates.
- Keep shelves fully stocked and displays neat and visible.
- Rotate stock regularly and follow company stock‑control procedures.
- Organise and tidy the storeroom.
- Report low, out‑of‑stock, damaged, or expired items to management.
- Assist with cycle counts and general stock-taking.
- Flatten boxes after unpacking and secure them in the designated area; cooperate with security checks.
- Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and follow new‑product updates.
- Build, face up, and maintain merchandising displays according to planograms.
- Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
- Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance to all customers.
- Follow up on out‑of‑stock queries and resolve customer requests promptly.
- Wear the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
- Aid in training new and existing team members.
- Report suspicious or dishonest behaviour to management.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workstation; adhere to housekeeping standards.
- Comply with all health and safety rules, policies, SOPs, and appearance guidelines.
Qualifications
Essential
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
<li 0–6 months of retail work experience.
Desirable
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and FMCG industry.
- Experience working with planograms.
- Additional language(s).
