Position Overview
We are seeking Operations Graduates specializing in Supply Chain/Logistics for our graduate program in Cape Town and Gauteng. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training in all facets of distribution centre operations and may progress to a manager role within the supply chain team upon completion.
Key Responsibilities
- People Management – leading and developing team members.
- Process Management – managing receiving, production, and dispatch processes.
- Planning & Replenishment – ensuring optimal stock levels and distribution.
- Industrial Relations – maintaining positive relationships with staff and unions.
- SHEQ – upholding safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
What You Will Learn
- The importance of fill rate, headcounts, and their impact on business performance.
- Performance appraisal processes and how they influence staff development.
- Key performance indicators such as shift fill rates, throughput, and MHE utilisation.
- Complete understanding of receiving processes and reporting.
- Production run operations and associated reporting.
- Inventory management principles in a distribution centre environment.
- Dispatch operations, client service impact and potential store claims.
- Shift operations and support for on‑the‑job training.
- Client volume planning – delivery lead times, frequency, and impact on KPI’s.
- Replenishment strategies and their effect on stores and DC performance.
Requirements
- University degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Intermediate level required.
- Willingness to work in an Operations role within a distribution centre.
- Willingness to travel nationally.
- Strong numeric and verbal reasoning abilities.
