About the Role

The Administrator: Service Advisor will work under the Service Manager and act as the main liaison between service advisors, foremen, technicians and customers. The role focuses on maintaining high service standards and ensuring smooth daily operations in the service department.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow within the service department.
• Update customers on service bookings and appointment schedules.
• Communicate effectively with all service staff.
• Open and close the workshop daily, ensuring all procedures are followed.
• Secure vehicles: lock them in the workshop and store keys in the key safe.
• Ensure vehicles are parked outside each morning and keys locked in the key safe.
• Ensure job cards are signed by technicians and service advisors.
• Assist technicians with timely quotes.
• Support the Controller, Foreman, Service Manager and Service Receptionist.
• Track parts ordered to the workshop.
• Lock the yard at the end of business.
• Book vehicle appointments.
• Arrange test drives with foreman or quality controller before customer departure.
• Record and report customer feedback.
• Order parts using the parts ordering system.
• Maintain a clean workshop area.
• Ensure technicians wear proper dress code per Cargo standards.
• Promote and follow safety standards.
• Select correct tools for each job.
• Sell accessories and additional work.
• Prepare quotations for approval.
• Follow up on pending sales.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

• Matric / Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF 4).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Service Advisor.
• At least 3 years of experience with Daimler Truck & Fuso products.
• Clear criminal record.
• Motor industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
• DTSA / MBSA Service Advisor Certificate is an advantage.
