Purpose of the Job: To safely transport materials from the Main Stores to a dedicated off‑loading point.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 / Std 10 is essential.
• Drivers License / EC1/04, EC License with a valid PRDP is essential.
• At least 3 years of professional heavy‑duty driving experience.
• Valid medical certificate or medical fitness to obtain one.

Competencies

• Knowledge of basic health and safety principles in the workplace.
• Understanding of the Road Ordinance Act.
• Familiarity with Impala Platinum rules and road rules.
• Good communication skills – fluent in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Performance Areas

• Safely operate and control rigid, articulated trucks and/or telehandlers.
• Conduct pre‑use inspections on vehicles.
• Report roadworthiness defects to the supervisor.
• Plan and prepare routes according to company policy.
• Ensure efficient loading and off‑loading of material.
• Participate in safety and productivity improvement programmes.
• Maintain a neat, tidy, organized and accurate workspace.
• Responsible for refueling and cleaning the vehicle.
• Willingness to work shifts or overtime when required.
• Participate in stock‑take teams as needed.
