About the Job

The Assistant Technician supports our Installation Technicians in setting up alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, and access control systems. Your main tasks will include running cables, drilling holes, mounting detectors, and testing the system to ensure it operates correctly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of alarm and security equipment.
• Remove old equipment from client premises.
• Run new cables, apply cable glue, drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights.
• Inform the technician of any equipment or tool shortfalls.
• Communicate cabling requirements for each installation.
• Demonstrate user functions and hand over the systems to clients.
• Clean vehicles and job sites after installations.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience as a wireman.
• PSIRA registered (Grade C) is an advantage.
• Practical electrical and electronic knowledge is helpful.
