Job Summary
The Control Equipment Operator assembles high‑volume consumables and sub‑assemblies that become final control equipment. The role follows detailed operating instructions, maintains quality, and reaches production targets while keeping safety and documentation in order.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify kits for assembly.
- Inspect and control the quality of raw materials.
- Help develop and retrieve operating instructions.
- Diagnose faults and rework faulty equipment using the historical faults database.
- Assemble sub‑assemblies and finished products.
- Inspect, verify and test sub‑assemblies and finished units.
- Label and package finished products.
- Track stock movements for raw materials and finished goods, keeping accurate paperwork.
- Follow the production plan to meet output targets.
- Document failures and corrective actions and report data to the supervisor.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain safety checklists as part of the factory safety program.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Soldering experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools (screwdriver, hammer, spanner).
- Ability to use electronic instruments such as a multimeter and power supply.
